FSSAI & UDYAM registration drive for SHGs at Chuchuyimpang

A one-day FSSAI and Udyam registration drive for SHGs was held on August 26 at Chuchuyimpang Village under Ongpangkong Block, Mokokchung district. The event was organized by DIC Mokokchung in collaboration with DAY-NSRLM, DRDA Mokokchung, as part of the Annual Action Plan for the financial year 2025–2026.
The program witnessed the participation of over 70 individuals.
Resource persons for the programme were Sukumlo Yanthan (Food Safety Officer) and department of Industries and Commerce, Lhouvingutuo kehie (RAMP).
The participants were sensitized on the importance of UDYAM and FSSAI registration, sanitation hygiene of food processed items. Sukumlo spoke on the importance of food safety and stressed upon maintaining strict food quality and safety measure. She also spoke on correct labelling of food products, the various logos associated with non-vegetarian food, vegetarian, AGMARK, BIS, organic, fortified and more.
The program was one of the first programs of its kind held in Chuchuyimpang village, featuring on-the-spot SHG registration and distribution of IEC materials.
The participating SHGs thanked DIC, NSRLM, and the Health department for organising the programme and expressed hope that the knowledge gained would help formalize their small-scale businesses. The program was chaired by Arenli Jamir, Project Associate RAMP DIC and a keynote address from Nongsheba Lamliu, Functional Manager DIC.
