In commemoration of the 50th birth anniversary of the braveheart of the nation, captain (late) Neikezhakuo Kenguruse, Assam Rifles organised a felicitation ceremony at his residence to honor his unwavering dedication and courage on July 15.
Capt (late) N Kenguruse, was posthumously awarded the Maha Vir Chakra, India’s second highest gallantry award, for his supreme sacrifice for the nation during the Kargil war of 1999.
According to HQ IGAR (N), the event has special significance as the nation will be celebrating the Kargil Vijay Diwas Rajat Jayanti this year.
Capt (late) N Kenguruse, epitomized valour and selflessness, embodying the highest ideals of service to the country. His exemplary bravery in the face of adversity continues to inspire generations, IGAR (N) said in a press release. The ceremony underscored the importance of honoring the brave soldiers and their families who bear the burden of their service, the release stated.
