Leadership workshop for Cooperation Dept. officials

A two-day leadership workshop for officers of the department of Cooperation was held on June 19 and 20, 2025 at the Office of the Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Kohima.
Commissioner and secretary, Cooperation department, Orenthung Lotha, attended the inaugural session as special guest. In his keynote address, he emphasised the need for ethical leadership, clear vision, and strong governance to strengthen the cooperative movement in Nagaland.
The workshop included four technical sessions on Conduct and Discipline Rules, Responsibilities of government servants, Soft Skills, and Office Procedures. Resource persons included Lithrila (Under Secretary, P&AR), Asalie Lese (dy. secretary, ATI), Meripeni Zares (under secretary, Home), and Rhonthungo (dy. secretary, Economics & Statistics).
On the second day, a panel discussion was held on the theme “Visioning for the Next Decade” in line with Viksit Bharat. Discussions focused on auditing, strengthening cooperatives, promoting inter-departmental convergence, and linking cooperatives with startups and entrepreneurs. The workshop concluded with participants committing to implement the strategies discussed and bring about positive changes in the cooperative sector.
