ASUD urges DC Dimapur for strict ILP

DIMAPUR, JUN 9 (NPN)

Ao Students’ Union Dimapur (ASUD) has urged the deputy commissioner (DC) Dimapur to strictly implement Inner Line Permit (ILP) in and around Dimapur and deport illegal Bangladeshi immigrants. In a representation addressed to the deputy commissioner (DC) Dimapur, ASUD president Imnatemsu Pongen and general secretary Tongpangnechet Kichu also proposed creating a centralized system for ILP registration, verification, and monitoring with the local administration with proper verification of guarantors. Further, the union pressed for deportation of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants as well as ILP defaulters and individuals with fake documentations. ASUD also appealed for ensuring coordination between concerned department, local administration, civil societies, student bodies and youth organisations to effectively implement ILP regulations. Further, ASUD called for creating awareness on ILP to the public through mass media and local administration.
